The mission of the Grand Rapids Medical Education & Research Center (GRMERC) Continuing Medical Education Program is to positively influence the quality of health care delivered to the people of West Michigan by supporting and helping to promote activities of continuing medical education. The content of the activities is directed towards primary care, specialty and subspecialty physicians as determined through continual needs assessments. The scope of the activities involves the basic sciences, evidence based medicine, clinical updates, procedural advances or programs to advance health care delivery. The target audience of GRMERC accredited program includes, but not limited to, physicians and other health care professionals in West Michigan.

Although the primary focus of CME activities is the practicing physician, we realize that other health care professionals frequently use our activities to meet their continuing education needs. The types of activities offered may include conferences and workshops, journal clubs, case discussion forums, live presentations, interactive Web-based and other innovative educational opportunities. It is expected that our activities will potentially change the participants' knowledge, skills or behavior and improve health outcomes.
