The Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship program at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital provides a very unique experience with emphasis on critical care nephrology. Our program is able to accommodate one fellow per year for this three year fellowship.

Fellows have the opportunity to actively participate in all areas of pediatric nephrology, including acute and chronic renal failure, management of patients requiring continuous renal replacement therapies, a pediatric-specific hemodialysis unit, peritoneal dialysis, and an active renal transplant program. We provide significant experience with native and transplant renal biopsies, performing more than 60 renal biopsies per year.

Challenging opportunities abound, with the ability to choose between clinical and basic science tracks. Our faculty is actively involved in national academic committees, editorial boards for major journals, and local and national research studies. Fellows are well educated in the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts for publication, and oral presentations for national and international meetings.
