Welcome to the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center (GRMERC) web site. Our organization is a partnership between Grand Valley State University, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Saint Mary's Health Care and Spectrum Health. Ferris State University and Metro Health are affiliate partners. In collaboration with our consortium members we offer a broad array of outstanding educational opportunities for medical students, residents, practicing physicians, physician's assistants, nurses and students in other health professions.

Our medical student program is growing rapidly with the establishment of the new four year medical school campus of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids. We sponsor training programs for almost 300 residents in 16 specialties and subspecialties and are planning to establish several new fellowships. Our continuing medical education program is among the largest in the State of Michigan.

GRMERC's goal is to be a catalyst in establishing West Michigan as a center of excellence in clinical care, physician and health professions education and research. We are committed to becoming a national benchmark for collaborative community based medical education, clinical simulation and interdisciplinary training in the health professions.
